Our Mission

The Network is north central Connecticut’s leader in preventing family violence by providing services to victims of domestic abuse and promoting healthy relationships through education with an expressed commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Network is a non-profit organization which provides free counseling services to domestic abuse victims and their children; free court advocacy services to victims of domestic violence; operates a 15-bed confidential safe home for individuals and families who are fleeing domestic abuse; as well as provides training on the dynamics of domestic abuse to healthcare and professional groups.

The Network is a program member of the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence along with 17 other agencies in Connecticut.  All services are available without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, marital status, physical ability, gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation.

Emergency Housing

We operate a 15-bed confidential safe house in an undisclosed location for individuals and families who are fleeing domestic violence. We make all efforts to ensure survivors  feel safer, and offer free counseling services.

What is Abuse?

Domestic abuse is a pattern of abusive behavior in a relationship where one person tries to control or dominate the other.  The abuse can take many forms such as emotional, sexual, psychological, physical, and/or financial. The abuse leaves the victim feeling scared, confused, dependent and insecure.

Our impact on the community
2022

With a strong and dedicated staff, we work together to achieve the mission of our agency. We continue our progress in schools. We have updated our curriculum to educate children in areas of bullying, self-esteem, healthy friendships, and teen dating violence.
